West Coast Canada - Wilderness Hiking at it's Best
Guests of Walters Cove Lodge in Kyuquot B.C. have the opportunity of a lifetime if they are
interested in wilderness hiking.

One example of a near by day hike is a memorable visit to Rugged Point Provincial Park. This recent addition to the B.C. Parks system is located on the Eastern shores of Kyuquot Channel.

This remote wilderness area offers magnificent scenery, as well as somewhat challenging hiking trails. The trails meander from white sandy beaches over rocky promontories, through virgin rain forests and back out again to yet another endless white sand beach.

On one side of the peninsula quiet well protected beaches offer awesome sun bathing opportunities. A short hike through the rain forest will bring you to the "wild side" of yet more sandy beaches and pounding surf.

Kapoose creek empties into the Pacific Ocean through the park providing a supply of fresh water and bathing opportunities for the adventuresome hiker.

Pit toilets are the only services provided in the park, however guests of the lodge may use the pick up and drop off services provided by the lodge.
