Walters Cove Lodge
Sport Fishing Vacations
World Class Salmon and Halibut Fishing.
Canada's last Sports Fishing frontier. This is our
best kept secret! Enjoy true wilderness sports
fishing.
Find out why B.C.'s
west coast is so popular for sports fishing! |
"For many years we provided world class sports
fishing trips at the premier lodge (North Pacific Springs)
located in Knight Inlet on the east side of Vancouver
Island.
Finally it was time to move on. The early remoteness of
our past operation was changing - it had been discovered.
The business was sold, and the search for the ultimate and
new operating area began.
 |
 |
The BROOKS PENINSULA
offers the most prolific fishery I have ever seen.
Yes, it is a remote area; remarkably it is
accessible. This is the West Coast's best kept secret.
|
The geological formation of the Continental shelf
culminates in a venturi or funnel effect bringing the masses
of pacific salmon as well as other species right to our
front door.
 |
 |
The eventual
destination of the particular species run simply does
not matter.
They are channeled through our area en-route and
provide some of the most spectacular angling options
available to mankind."

OUR SEASON - WHEN SHOULD WE COME?
Our Season is from May first through until the end of
September
Halibut!
June 1st - July 15th
This is our peak season for chicken and mid-size halibut.
 |
 |
Fish in the 15 pound to
100 pound range are prolific at this time of year and
most important are close to shore.
Although Halibut may be caught throughout the
season this is the time of year when they are closest
to the lodge and generally most prolific. |
We have taken many larger fish further offshore however
the angler needs to understand the nature of the beast prior
to making the decision to hunt a Halibut trophy.
 |
 |
This species can reach
weights of 300 pounds or more, such a fish could be as
much as 80 years old and as an aside these older fish
often are as tough as shoe leather. |

These old timers are
our "Brood Stock" and although we know their
address, we would prefer to target the smaller,
younger and tastier fish.
For those serious trophy hunters who do not mind
the challenge of light tackle and fair chase, we can
design a trip catering to their needs. |
During this early season we also are afforded the
opportunity to catch a myriad of other bottom fish (White
Fish) as well as early Chinook (King) Salmon.
The magnificent Chinook (King) Salmon
June 1st - September 15th
This is the time of year to target one of the world's
most popular game fish.
During the summer months we catch most or all of the 5
pacific salmon species as well as Halibut, Ling Cod, Snapper
and etc.
 |
 |
However nothing can
match the power and cunning of a mature Chinook (King)
Salmon.
We fish for these denizens of the deep using light
tackle and endeavor to provide the angler with
memories that will truly last a lifetime. |
Coho (Silvers)
Ling Cod and Combination Bottom Fishing
August 15th - September 15th
While we still see the last of the trophy size Chinook
(King) salmon in the area at this time of year it is the
peak season for Coho (silvers) salmon.
 |
 |
We are allowed to keep
the returning "hatchery" fish and are
afforded the opportunity to enjoy multiple "catch
and release" angling for the prolific runs of
wild Northern Coho bottom fishing is also solid at
this time of year.
This late summer fishing is often the most
satisfying as the landscape starts to take on the fall
colors and our prolific wildlife prepare for the
upcoming winter. |
